A nation’s Carbon Footprint includes all Greenhouse Gas emissions required to satisfy the consumption by households and of public services and investment, no matter whether these emissions happen inside a nation’s border or outside.



It hence gives a picture of a nation’s climate responsibility independent of the location of production activities that serve to satisfy a nation’s demand.

The following figure gives an overview of the overall footprint per capita in the world (annual emission in tonnes pr. capita).  Below this a ranking of each country.
